PEMBERDAYAAN PEREMPUAN DESA PRIMA MELATI SARI SUMBERSARI, MOYUDAN, SLEMAN DALAM PRODUKSI DAN OLAHAN SINGKONG

Abstract

The PbM program is implemented in Prima Village (Women Indonesia Maju Mandiri) Melati Sari located in Blendung village, Sumbersari, Moyudan, Sleman, Yogyakarta, which develops women's economic empowerment in the Sumbersari area. Women are believed to have an important role in family resilience. The partner's problem is that some have yards planted with cassava, but the cassava yields are in the form of small tubers. Small tubers are sold at low prices, processed cassava products which have been sold in the form of soft, boiled cassava, fried cassava and the marketing is still local. The purpose of this PbM Program is to improve the welfare of the community through empowering women in increasing productivity and cassava cultivation techniques, cassava processed foods and online marketing. PbM's specific target is to reduce the poverty level of a region through increasing women's economic productivity in an integrated and synergized manner through the improvement and innovation of processed food products. The methods implemented are interviews, training, practice and mentoring. Activities include training and making demonstration plots for organic cassava cultivation. training on innovation of cassava processed products, training on attractive and hygienic packaging design for processed cassava products, and online marketing. Procurement of materials and tools, namely planting media, cassava cuttings, and organic fertilizer. The results of community service activities are increasing women's empowerment in cultivating and innovating processed cassava, increasing community welfare, high selling prices of processed cassava, and wider marketing. The outputs of this PbM program are book copyrights, articles in mass media, articles in journals/proceedings and posters.
