Analisis Sedimentologi dan Potensi Reservoir pada Formasi Air Benakat Cekungan Sumatra Selatan
Abstract

ABSTRACT
The Air Benakat Formation has the potential to be a good reservoir in the South Sumatra Basin, apart from that, the Air Benakat Formation is in a shallow position. This research aims to determine the depositional environment that developed in the Air Benakat Formation and its reservoir potential. The method used is the integration of core data, petrographic, and paleontological data at a depth of 3117 ft to 3137 ft (X well). Based on the results of the core description, the depositional environment of the Air Benakat Formation at the research location is a shallow marine to transitional environment with middle shoreface to foreshore facies. The core analysis results of the three samples show a 17% - 24% porosity but have different permeability values. Sample 1 at the top has a very low permeability of 0.21 mD compared to samples 2 and 3 which are at the bottom. The permeability values for samples 2 and 3 are 694 mD and 13.2 mD. This value is influenced by the sedimentary structure and clay content. Sample 2 has the largest permeability value because it contains the least clay and a large grain size (coarse sandstone). Samples 1 and 3 are very fine sandstone and fine sandstone.
